SITUATION MONITOR
Apple Watch app & website privacy

Your information.
Clearly explained.

This notice covers Situation Monitor Watch, its invited TestFlight Beta, this website and support.

Updated October 4, 2026. Operator: Jussi Mäntynen. Contact: feedback@getsituationmonitor.com.

Visiting this website

The website serves its pages, images and fonts without advertising, an analytics script, a registration form or browser storage. Its clock uses your device's time. Opening an email link opens your own email application; the website does not send a message.

Cloudflare hosts and protects the website. To deliver pages and prevent abuse, its infrastructure processes connection and request information such as IP address, requested URL, time, browser information and response status. This is distinct from advertising tracking. We do not enable application request logs or traces for this website. Cloudflare may retain operational and security information under its own policies; disabling application logs does not mean that its infrastructure keeps no records. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for its processing and retention criteria.

Email support

If you email us, we receive your sender address, message, attachments and email metadata to answer your request. Mail to the support address is routed through Cloudflare to an Apple iCloud mailbox. Please send only information needed to explain the issue; avoid passwords and unnecessary health or location details. Providers process and retain information under their own service policies. See Apple's privacy information and Cloudflare's policy above.

We review and delete resolved support correspondence within 90 days of the last support interaction, unless it is needed for an ongoing issue or an applicable obligation. This is a manual support policy. Provider backups and security records follow the providers' retention processes. Information may be processed in countries other than your own through these services.

Your choices and requests

You can browse without sending feedback. Contact the address above to ask about, access, correct or delete information you sent us, or to object to or request limits on its use. We will assess requests under applicable law and explain any information we must retain. Include the approximate date or subject of your message so we can locate it; do not send identity documents unless specifically needed and requested. You may also contact the relevant data protection authority about a concern.

Places, weather and Apple maps

Selected places and preferences are stored on your Watch. To provide weather and air quality, the app sends the selected coordinates and time-zone parameters to our Cloudflare-hosted weather service, which requests data from Open-Meteo. Coordinates may be precise and personally meaningful, including when you select your current location. Cloudflare receives your network address; Open-Meteo receives requests from our relay, including the selected coordinates. Apple provides maps, place lookup and optional current-location selection.

Weather is cached on the Watch for offline display. The 48-hour cache-validity limit is not an automatic deletion guarantee. Our relay keeps budget and request-recovery state, rather than a shared weather-response cache. Provider infrastructure processing is separate. Open-Meteo states that paid-service IP/URL logs are linked to the subscription and individual logs are removed after 90 days; aggregate usage remains. Request URLs can contain coordinates. See Open-Meteo's terms and privacy policy.

Activity, battery and permissions

Optional Activity summaries and battery information are used for local display. The app does not automatically send Health data with weather requests or app feedback. You can manage Health and location permissions in Apple's settings. Information you choose to type in a message or include in an attachment is a separate disclosure. Apple's dictation services have their own processing; we do not attach audio recordings or promise offline dictation.

Feedback sent from the app

When you choose Options → Feedback and send a message, the app sends your text, message ID, UTC time, app version/build/release date, platform, device model and OS version to our Cloudflare-hosted feedback service. It also sends a random installation identifier. The service derives protected tags from that identifier and your network address for abuse prevention and duplicate handling. These identifiers do not make feedback anonymous. Retries and status checks may retransmit the feedback envelope.

Accepted feedback is delivered through Cloudflare Email Service to our iCloud support mailbox. The app service's durable delivery records exclude message text; the email delivery service and mailbox process the message content and metadata. We use feedback to answer requests, diagnose problems and improve the app. We do not add advertising or advertising-tracking integrations.

Retention and deletion

Saved places remain on the Watch until removed through the app or device storage controls. Local feedback drafts normally expire seven days after their last edit and pending submission records after 23 hours, when cleanup next runs; a separate draft may remain. Deleting a local draft does not recall an already delivered message. Ordinary service receipts last 24 hours; duplicate-prevention and recovery records can remain longer.

The 90-day resolved-support policy above also applies to app feedback. Service providers maintain their own operational, security, backup and email records. Email preview retention can apply at Cloudflare; we have not verified that email previews are disabled and do not promise immediate removal from provider systems. Our weather and feedback Workers have application logs and traces disabled, which does not disable provider infrastructure processing. Contact us about retained feedback using its message ID or approximate date.

Invited TestFlight testing

We use the email address supplied for a requested Beta invitation to administer your testing access through Apple TestFlight. Apple processes installation, usage, crash and optional tester-feedback information and makes relevant testing information available to the developer. This is separate from feedback sent within the app. See Apple's TestFlight terms. You can stop testing and request removal from our tester group. An invitation is not a marketing subscription.

The app's local data notice is available with its feedback controls. This page provides the broader app and service disclosures. Changes to this notice will be dated here. For requests about your information, use the contact and request process above.
